Welcome

Leighton House is a Private Nursing Home registered with the CQC for a maximum of only 26 residents.   We believe in providing person centred nursing support to older people from any background in a dignified and respectful manner.

At Leighton House our staff team work tirelessly to ensure that your loved one is cared for as if they were in their own home.   We believe in building relationships forged around trust and centred around who we are caring for.

Our aims are simply to do our best to make your loved one feel at home.

Caring for those with dementia

We encourage all who reside here to live their life in a manner which is specific to their wishes, and which promotes independence and choice. We do this by finding out what is important to each person and supporting them in a way which is meaningful to them. We value the uniqueness of each person and build on their skills in order to maintain independence and involve them fully in any decision making processes.

We will respect and value each person and their contribution to the home and their care. We will ensure that this home provides for all support needs by ongoing assessment and evaluation of each person with them fully involved and consulted at every stage.

We will establish good channels of communication and information sharing between the next of kin and ourselves and all support given will be transparent, open, and in accordance with current best practice and legislation.--

  • Palliative care needs
  • Complex health needs i.e. diabetes or epilepsy
  • Physical or sensory impairment

  • Social or entertainment needs

Spaces to stumulate

We provide our residents with a friendly, clean, homely, comfortable and safe environment, which promotes individuality, choice, independence, rights and dignity.

We have twenty two single rooms and two twin rooms, most of which are en-suite and all include fully profiling beds, a nurse call system and TV and telephone points. Specialist pressure relieving mattresses are available when needed.

We encourage people to personalise and individualise their rooms with pictures and treasured items.

There are two lounges to enjoy, a spacious dining room and a safe and accessible garden and patio.  Our home has been constructed to support our residents' needs and is constantly being updated to reflect changing needs, lifestyles and regulations.
